Trophies at the Wine GB Awards

We couldn’t have had a better time at the WINE GB awards. According to Decanter a '“Sussex-based winery called Artelium emerged as a rising star …at ..WineGB Awards”

Judging was led by the renowned Oz Clarke OBE and Susie Barrie MW, who were helped in the strenuous task by Luke Habor, Aleesha Hansel, Helen McGinn and Rebecca Palmer. The event took place fittingly in London’s Vintners Hall and are the English Wine Industry version of the BAFTAs.

With a number of our wines receiving medals at the awards, it was the Artelium Blanc De Blancs 2015 that stood out at the star of the show winning the Trophy for the ‘Best Blanc de Blancs’ and going on to win the Best Sparkling. It’s fair to say the entire team were over the moon to be awarded Best Newcomer, but probably a bit overwhelmed and very honoured when we were awarded “Supreme Champions”.

The whole day was a celebration of the quality of English wine. Oz Clarke captured the mood when he said ”Judging the WineGB Awards is one of the highlights of my year, not only for the sheer pleasure of it, but because I can come aware with a real sense of where we are as a wine nation, what we’v achieved and how thrilling the prospects for the future are.”
