*NEW VINTAGE* Artelium Curators Cuvée 2020 – English Sparkling Wine (750ml)

After the 2018 vintage won Gold at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2024, we’re thrilled and excited to release the 2020 vintage.

Elegant yet generous, Curators Cuvée 2020 is the result of careful curation and patient ageing. Parcels of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier were brought together to create a blend that balances freshness with depth, and precision with character.

The aroma is reminiscent of delicately scented flowers. The palate is lively and layered, showing and subtle white berries before a long, moreish finish of toasted brioche.

59% Chardonnay | 27% Pinot Noir | 14% Meunier

ABOUT THE VINTAGE

The 2020 season started early as the country went into lock down during an unusually warm March and April, resulting in early bud burst, which was hit by a late frost in May. A dry July provided a good flowering season, whilst a warm August provided the conditions for a slightly earlier than normal harvest in late September.

  • An elegant, classic nose. Inviting aromas of lemon peel and green orchard fruits with subtle fresh pastry. The palate is bright and multi-layered; clean acidity refreshes, the well-ripe fruit gives a richness of texture. Crisp pear, subtle tropical fruit notes. Long, tense toasted-brioche finish.  

  • A warm Spring led to early budburst, despite some frosts in April damage was very limited in 2019. Rainfall during flowering was minimal, followed by a warm start to Summer. Late July was extraordinarily hot, August and September warm too, with  intermittent rainfall. October was wet with heavy rains throughout, making harvest challenging, but the positive Summer weather led to excellent quality overall.  

  • A fantastic aperitif in its own right. Curators Cuvée pairs beautifully with shellfish, seafood of all kinds and fresh, clean vegetable dishes. It is an opulent, fun counterbalance to crunchy, fried dishes like Panko-crumbed chicken or filo pastry bites.
