Solly Monyamane’s Wine Making Story
“I am a South African–born winemaker, raised in Pretoria (Mamelodi), and formally trained in Stellenbosch between 2010 and 2013. My professional experience has been primarily rooted in Stellenbosch, where I have held roles as a winemaker, viticulturist, and assistant lecturer at Elsenburg Agricultural Training Institute, an institution affiliated with Stellenbosch University.
In addition to my work in South Africa, I have gained international harvest experience in California, Burgundy, and the Mosel, further broadening my technical expertise and global perspective on viticulture and winemaking.
In 2023, I relocated from South Africa to pursue international opportunities and joined Artelium Wine Estate in Sussex, United Kingdom. Since my appointment as winemaker at Artelium, I have completed three vintages, producing multiple award-winning wines and contributing to the advancement of still wine production in England.”
We hope you enjoyed your tasting of Artelium’s wines, and that it’s given you a sense of the creativity, innovation, and bold approaches that shape our winemaking.
