TASTING NOTES
The nose is expressive, showing ripe orchard fruits, honey-glazed lemon and a touch of pineapple, layered with notes of pastry and subtle oak spice. On the palate it is precise yet generous, with focused acidity carrying flavours of baked apple, citrus zest, coconut and almond through a long biscuity finish.
SERVING SUGGESTIONS
This is a Chardonnay with real presence and aging potential. Lovely to drink now for its youthful energy, it will continue to evolve beautifully over the next five years and more. Pair it with refined dishes such as lemon sole or roast game or cellar a few bottles as a collector’s piece.
ABOUT THE LABEL
Artist: Rosie Mortimer
Rosie Mortimer, winner of the 2024 Artelium Artefact Prize in collaboration with Sussex Contemporary, creates sculptures which explore absence, space, and the overlooked —reflecting themes of societies unheard voices. For two Artefact wines, Rosie’s designs reference her sculpture created for the estate, Surface, Edge, Shadow—a bisected form of iron and bronze, exploring division and how a simple barrier can grant or deny possibility.
Once this limited-release wine has sold through, the sculpture will remain as an Artefact of this unique wine. Learn more about our Artefact wines.
